Kinder, the fastest growing kids confectionery brand[1], is continuing its growth momentum by partnering with Universal’s latest summer blockbuster – Despicable Me 3.
Rolling out from the mid May, the new Kinder Surprise eggs - containing instantly recognisable Minion characters - will be available until August. The new eggs will be supported with in-store activation, kicking off in mid-May for 8 weeks, to ensure the new license is launched in an all-star fashion.
Levi Boorer, Customer Development Director at Ferrero UK, comments: “Kinder Surprise continues to deliver incremental sales for retailers and we’re confident that this new partnership will be popular with parents looking to purchase a relevant treat for their children. The Despicable Me franchise and box office sales have totalled £4.8 billion since its launch and, with over 20 million fans on Facebook, we’re confident the new film will be another hit.”
Kinder Surprise is enjoying strong growth and the brand is now worth £65m[2], whilst continuing to grow (+7%[3]) in a flat kid’s confectionery category[4]. Kinder has sustained growth by appealing to families as the ideal way to treat children, offering high quality, added value and small portion sizes.
The new Kinder Surprise eggs will carry an RRP of £0.92p (20g).
